About us
BIODECODE builds next-generation genome analysis systems. Our aim is faster, more accurate analysis that gives physicians decision support they can use at the point of prescribing.
BIODECODE is a clinical genomics analysis company. We have interpreted the genomic data of more than 3,000 patients across whole-exome (WES), clinical-exome (CES), Trio-WES and cancer panel analyses. Along the way we saw that the genes shaping drug response deserve to be read as carefully as disease genes.
So we treated pharmacogenomics not as a genotyping service that checks a few positions, but as a genome analysis problem. We designed our own 67-locus panel, built our own analysis engine and custom modules, and rebuilt the report around how physicians actually read.
Today we run all our analyses on a genome analysis platform we built ourselves. Our pharmacogenomic system integrates panel, analysis software and clinical report, and each part is designed with the others in mind.
We never present an uncertain result as certain. Uncertainty is measured and visible in the report.
Every verdict states which gene, which authority and which knowledge-base version it comes from.
From sample to report, every step has an owner and a record.
BIODECODE was founded by two academics who have researched molecular biology, genomics and bioinformatics together for years.

Completed his PhD at Massey University, New Zealand, developing next-generation DNA probes through chemical modification, then worked on miRNA detection kits. Researches alternative DNA structures and bioinformatic prediction from genomic data.
Work co-authored by our founders forms the computational genomics and drug science foundation that BIODECODE builds on.
